Insurance & Medicare

For your protection and confidentiality, we recommend self-pay for therapy. You may be eligible for a mental health care plan under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative. If you are suffering from anxiety, depression or other diagnosable mental health issue you are able to be referred by your GP to an eligible mental health care professional. Under the Better Access Initiative you are limited to the number of sessions you will receive (after 6 sessions you are required to go back to your GP for review) and will be treated using standard evidence based modalities such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) or interpersonal psychology. These approaches do not suit everyone. This also requires the provision of a report back to your referring GP, thus minimizing confidentiality and privacy. Couples therapy is not covered under Medicare.

If you have Private Insurance you need to check that you are covered for the services provided. If you are, you would pay us directly and will be provided with the documentation you need to file a claim.
